Ashfaaq; believes he don't have to appologise

Male', MALDIVES -
VB sports and national team striker Ali Ashfaag (Dhagey) has been presented to FAM and asked to apologize for playing in the Club Maldives Futsal Tournament (CMFT) but the promising striker, whose appearance in the tournament came just before two days after he had been substituted in the Asian Cup 2011 preliminary qualifying game against Lebanon in Beirut, refused to apologize and indeed said he didn’t do anything that deserved to be apologized.

Interim Committee secretary Shah Ismail said it was national team coach Jankech, who met Dhagey and Shah himself don’t know the details of the conversation.

“I wasn’t there in the meeting. That’s something the coach has to clarify and I didn’t ask the details of the conversation” Shah said.

“But I can assure that coach met Ashfaag yesterday and I think tomorrow he (coach) will inform his final decision”

Dhagey said he was given two choices in the meeting; one is reduce a portion of his salary or apologize for playing in CMFT.

“I was asked that I got two choices” Dhagey started.

“That’s reduce a portion from the salary or apologize, but I called Shah last night and told him that I will not apologize because I didn’t do anything wrong. But they (FAM) can take whatever action they want”

Dhagey also rubbishes Shah’s comments that he wasn’t in the meeting.

“Though he (Shah) said he didn’t know about the meeting, he was there in the meeting. That’s why I called him (last night) and informed my decision” Dhagey added.

Meanwhile coach Jankech said they offered Dhagey two choices and yet he didn’t receive any answer from Dhagey so he cannot talk further on this matter
